In the classroom

Edumaps runs in the browser, with nothing to install and no accounts to create.

  • Project a lesson and move through it step by step with the class.

  • Share a link: it opens exactly the year, the place and the fact you chose.

  • Ask them to explore a period: what was happening at the same time elsewhere in the world.

Why a map that travels in time

No event happens in isolation. A timeline shows the sequence but not the place; a printed atlas shows the place but freezes a moment. Edumaps combines both: where something happened, what was happening nearby and what was going on in the rest of the world at that same moment.

Edumaps is an independent educational project, started in Buenos Aires in 2018.

  1. Open sources

We build on free and open databases, enriched with contributions from historians and specialists.

  2. Relevance

Out of over 5 millions of English facts analysed, the map shows the most significant first; zoom in and the more specific ones appear.

  3. Designed for teaching

Educational tools and timelines designed to bring history into the classroom or for self-directed learning.
